REPAIR

We provide a complete range of automotive repair services for new, aging, vintage, and custom vehicles, both of foreign origin and domestic. These services range from a basic tail-light replacement to a complete drive-train replacement (i.e., engine, transmission, differential, axles, etc.) Our objective is to complete most repairs in one day; however, a vehicle's age, availability of quality parts, or complexity of repairs may necessitate keeping a vehicle for more than one day. We always provide estimates of costs and time to complete work, and routinely meet these commitments.

For our existing customers, we maintain a complete data base of a vehicle's compete service history at Import Auto, which we consult as part of our diagnostic and estimate-development phase going forward. For our first-time customers, we begin setting up the history, and capture all relevant vehicle-specific information to facilitate future service or repair calls.

We test-drive every repaired vehicle to ascertain completeness and correctness of the repairs, and the technician responsible for the repairs signs-off on it.

Repairs While Under Factory Warranty
Although Import Auto can provide complete repair services at a charge while a vehicle is under factory warranty, it is best to have such services performed by the dealer at no cost to the owner.  In special cases where a customer requires Import Auto to repair a vehicle that is under warranty, the customer will pay Import Auto for the repairs, and then work with his/her dealer for reimbursement, as needed.

Repairs Covered by non-Factory Extended Warranty
As a service to our customers, we take care of all the paperwork and coordination with the Extended Warranty companies on behalf of the customer. We have excellent working relationship with most of the Extended Warranty companies, which helps accelerate processing.

After the vehicle is dropped-off at our facility, we perform our diagnostic and evaluation, develop an estimate of time and costs, and obtain approval from the Warranty Company to proceed with the repairs. This phase may take one or more days, and we keep customer apprised of the progress.

After completion of repairs, the customer will pay Import Auto for the deductible (if applicable), and the Warranty Company will pay Import Auto for the remainder of the cost.

Repairs Covered by Auto Insurer
As a service to our customers, we take care of all the paperwork and coordination with insurance companies on behalf of the customer. We have excellent working relationship with most of insurance companies, which helps accelerate processing.

After the vehicle is dropped-off at our facility, we perform our diagnostic and evaluation, develop an estimate of time and costs, and obtain approval from the insurance company to proceed with the repairs. This phase may take one or more days, and we keep customer apprised of the progress.

After completion of repairs, the customer will pay Import Auto for the deductible (if applicable), and the insurance company will pay Import Auto for the remainder of the cost.

Repairs Not Covered by Extended Warranty or Insurance
In these cases, Import Auto first provides customer with estimates of cost and time-to-complete repairs. Repairs are classified into safety-related (e.g., worn-out brakes, broken suspension or steering parts, or worn-out tires), reliability-related (e.g., weak battery, leaking water pump or radiator, slipping transmission, etc.), and upcoming problems that require attention. Once the customer selects and approves the repairs to be carried out, we proceed with completing the repairs, test-driving and verifying correctness and completeness of the repairs, have the vehicle washed and vacuumed, and ready for customer pick-up.
